Terms of Use

The short version

  • ERStyles is an educational self-reflection tool — not therapy, medical advice, or diagnosis.
  • Paid reports are generated by AI and describe general patterns; treat them as a starting point for reflection, not a professional assessment.
  • Each $5 deep-dive purchase includes 3 report generations ("takes").
  • Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy; refunds follow our Refund Policy.
  • Your content stays yours; our content stays ours — use your reports personally, don't republish the site's materials.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and ERStyles.com ("ERStyles," "we," "us"). By using the site — browsing it, taking a test, creating an account, or making a purchase — you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Refund Policy, which are part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. What ERStyles is — and is not

ERStyles is for education and self-reflection only. Nothing on this site — including test results, AI-generated reports, and emotion descriptions — is medical advice, psychological advice, therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. The tests are not clinical or diagnostic instruments. Using the site does not create a therapist–patient or any other professional relationship.

If you are struggling with your mental health, please talk to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, call 911, 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S.), or your local emergency number immediately. Never delay or disregard professional care because of something you read here.

3. Who may use the site

You must be at least 13 years old to use the site, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to make a purchase or create an account — or have a parent or guardian's permission and supervision. The site is not directed at children under 13.

4. Your account

Creating an account is optional; it exists so you can save results and access purchases across devices. You agree to provide an accurate email address, keep your password confidential, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

Deleting your account permanently deletes your saved results and our copy of your purchase records. It does not affect your refund rights: Lemon Squeezy keeps its own record of every order, so we can still help with refunds afterward (see our Refund Policy).

5. Purchases

Paid products are sold through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which processes your payment and handles applicable taxes. Their own terms apply to the checkout process. There is currently one paid product:

  • Deep-dive tests ($5 each): a deeper assessment for one of the six emotional styles. Each purchase includes three report generations ("takes") — each time a personalized report is generated for you counts as one take. Takes do not expire. When a purchase's takes are used up, you can buy that deep-dive again for three more. Because generating a report has a real cost to us, takes are counted when a report is generated, whether or not you finish reading it.

A deep-dive purchase unlocks that test for the purchasing account only. Prices may change, but changes never affect what you have already bought. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

6. AI-generated reports

Deep-dive reports are written on demand by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) from your numeric scores. AI-generated text can be imperfect: reports describe general patterns associated with score profiles like yours and may not fit your specific situation. Reports are provided for reflection and education, and each generation may word things differently. Do not treat a report as a professional evaluation of you (see Section 2).

7. Using our content

The site's content — tests, questions, scoring, emotion descriptions, reports, text, graphics, and code — belongs to ERStyles or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the site and to keep and use your own results and reports for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape, or redistribute the site's content, use it to build a competing product, or use automated tools to extract it.

8. Acceptable use

When using the site, you agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • probe, disrupt, overload, or attempt to bypass the security or payment mechanisms of the site (including purchase and take limits);
  • share, resell, or pool account access to paid products;
  • misrepresent site content or results as professional or clinical assessments of yourself or anyone else.

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms. You can stop using the site — and delete your account — at any time.

9. Third-party services

The site relies on third-party services (hosting, payments, authentication, email, AI generation) described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for outages or changes in those services, though we will always work in good faith to keep the site running and to make things right.

10. Disclaimers

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ERStyles will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to the site and these terms

We are actively improving the site and may change or discontinue features. If we materially change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, provide notice on the site or by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a formal claim, please contact us — most issues can be resolved with an email.
