Cookie Policy

The short version
- Most of the site's memory lives in your browser's local storage (your test results, your sign-in), not in cookies.
- The few cookies we do use are for security and checkout. Our traffic analytics is cookieless — nothing stored, no one identified.
- We use no advertising or social-media tracking cookies, and we never sell your data — no matter how it was collected.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser, typically to recognize you between page loads or visits. Local storage is a similar browser feature for storing data on your device, but unlike cookies it is not automatically sent to the server with every request — it stays in your browser until the site reads it or you clear it. ERStyles uses local storage for most things and cookies only where a service genuinely needs them.
2. Strictly necessary — always on
These make the site work. They store no more than they need and are never used for tracking you across other websites.
| Name | Type / set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
erstyles_test_result |
Local storage / ERStyles | Your free-test scores, so the results page can show them and survive a reload | Until you clear site data or retake the test |
erstyles_secondary_[emotion]_result |
Local storage / ERStyles | Your deep-dive scores for one emotion — [emotion] is whichever test you took, e.g. erstyles_secondary_anger_result |
Until you clear site data or retake the test |
erstyles_secondary_[emotion]_report |
Local storage / ERStyles | The generated report for that deep-dive, so re-viewing it never regenerates it | Until you clear site data or retake the test |

Local storage / Supabase | Keeps you signed in to your account (the middle part is our Supabase project's ID) | Until you sign out |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance |
Cookies / Cloudflare | Distinguish real visitors from malicious bots and protect the site from attacks (includes Cloudflare Turnstile, the checkbox-free CAPTCHA alternative on our sign-in forms) | Minutes to a few hours |
| Checkout cookies | Cookies / Lemon Squeezy | Operate the secure checkout when you buy something; set by Lemon Squeezy within its checkout | Per Lemon Squeezy's policy |
3. Analytics — how we measure site traffic
We use exactly one analytics tool: Cloudflare Web Analytics, and it is cookieless. It counts page views and performance in aggregate without setting any cookie, storing anything on your device, or fingerprinting you. It identifies no one — so there is no analytics identifier to consent to or opt out of. It never sees your test answers, scores, or report content — only which pages were visited and standard technical details.
We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other cookie-based analytics. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before any such cookie is set.
4. What we don't use
No advertising cookies. No social-media pixels. No cross-site tracking. No selling of data collected.
5. Your choices
Because nothing on this site tracks you for advertising and our analytics is cookieless, there is nothing you need to opt out of — which is why you won't see a cookie consent banner here. Your browser still gives you full control: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear site data. Clearing site data also clears local storage — note this signs you out and removes locally saved results; results saved to an account are unaffected.
Blocking the strictly necessary items will break the parts of the site that depend on them — for example, blocking local storage means test results can't be shown.
6. Changes and contact
If the cookies we use change — for example, if we add a new tool — we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions: [email protected]. For how we handle personal information generally, see our Privacy Policy.
