Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 2, 2026
Who we are: ERStyles (“we,” “us,” “our”) helps visitors learn about their emotional response styles.

What we collect

  • Assessment responses & results: When you complete the assessment, we store your answers and calculated results. The form system also records basic metadata such as date/time, IP address, browser/OS, and referrer URL to prevent abuse and maintain quality.
  • Contact details: If/when we add email capture (e.g., to send results or product updates), we’ll store your email and your consent preferences.
  • Purchases: If you buy something, Stripe processes your payment. We receive a confirmation of payment and order details (e.g., product, amount, billing email) but never see full card numbers.
  • Website analytics & cookies: We use tools like Google Analytics (via MonsterInsights) to understand site usage (pages viewed, device type, approximate location, etc.). Other plugins may set cookies that are needed for the site to work (e.g., WooCommerce cart cookies), security/performance (e.g., Jetpack), pop-ups/opt-ins (OptinMonster), email delivery (WP Mail SMTP / Creative Mail), or forms (Formidable Forms / WPForms).
  • Server logs: Our host (Bluehost) automatically records access logs (e.g., IP, user agent) for reliability and security.

What we don’t collect

  • We don’t intentionally collect sensitive categories (e.g., health diagnoses, government IDs).
  • We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

How we use your information

  • Provide and improve the assessment and site experience.
  • Troubleshoot, secure the site, and prevent spam/abuse.
  • If you opt in, send your results and related guidance or product emails.
  • Process orders and deliver digital products.

Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)

We process personal data when it’s necessary to perform a contract (e.g., delivering paid products), based on your consent (e.g., marketing emails, non-essential cookies), and for our legitimate interests (site security, analytics, improving services) when these do not override your rights.

Sharing your information

We share information with service providers who help us operate the site and deliver services, including: hosting (Bluehost), forms (Formidable Forms / WPForms), email delivery and newsletters (WP Mail SMTP / Creative Mail), analytics (Google Analytics via MonsterInsights), security/performance (Jetpack), marketing pop-ups (OptinMonster), ecommerce (WooCommerce), and payments (Stripe). These providers may process data on servers outside your country.
We may also share data to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies & similar technologies

  • Required cookies run the site (e.g., remember cart, prevent spam).
  • Analytics cookies help us understand what’s working so we can improve.
  • Marketing/functional cookies may support opt-ins or show/hide pop-ups.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Where required, we’ll ask for consent for non-essential cookies.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above (for example, to maintain accurate assessment history, fulfill purchases, meet tax/legal obligations, or resolve disputes). When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Your choices & rights

  • Access/Update/Delete. You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or delete it (subject to legal limits).
  • Withdraw consent. If you opted into emails, you can unsubscribe anytime.
  • Object/Restrict/Portability (EEA/UK). You may have additional rights under local law.
To exercise any rights, contact us using the details below.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a small website. No system is 100% secure; please use unique, strong credentials.

International transfers

If your data is transferred outside your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual protections required by law).

Third-party links

Our site may link to other websites. Their privacy practices are their own.

Severability

If any provision of this Privacy Policy is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable for any reason by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of this Privacy Policy will continue in full force and effect.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when our features change. We’ll revise the “Effective date” above and, if changes are significant, provide a clearer notice on the site.
